I am a big fan of Brian Bilston's visual poetry and so while I was playing around in illustrator I semi-accidentally came up with this self portrait which my friend told me to share. I tend to do more spoken word and I’ll be the first to admit that visual poetry can be incredibly naff, but it can also be powerful, and amusing. That’s the beauty of poetry, you can read, it you can hear it, you can watch it, you can yell it and you can admire its shape. What do you guys think?

I write out a poem many times, As I search out beat, and scrape for rhymes. I'll try one thing and I'll try another, The ruins erased, keeping drafts? - Too much bother.
I rewrite out a poem many times continually. As I search out beat, and scrape for rhymes I feel for flow, and debate where to go. I'll try one thing and I'll try another The ruins erased, keeping drafts? If to rhyme? Where to lead?, In this one, what should be key? too much bother
